Plot summary

Fischer cannot recall his last morning that began without a hangover. He lives inside a working church, where people are baptized, married, prayed over and buried, and he sleeps in the back at no charge. In exchange he turns the lights off and locks the doors. At six on a Tuesday morning, Peter appears with no warning. The two were friends in high school but have not seen each other for years. Peter has driven ten hours straight because the woman he has been with for five years was unfaithful, and he wants somewhere to hide, to think and to drink. Fischer sets about helping him recover.
