Plot summary
Jude is 31, a singer-songwriter in New York City who pays her bills with commercial jingles and drifts through one-night stands. Her relationship with her famous father has long been difficult, and when she loses her Brooklyn apartment, she has nowhere to go but his Hamptons mansion. Paul Lombard is a wealthy crooner past his prime, remembered as much for his womanizing as for his music. The acclaim he wanted never came his way, and he is angling for a comeback. The household is a strained one: Jude's sister Corinne is the family overachiever, and Jude's own love life is in ruins. Her arrival complicates Paul's plans.
