Plot summary
Two men end up on opposite sides of the conflict over the Dakota Access Pipeline, which is built in 2016 across the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota, on land owned by the Lakota "Sioux" Tribe. Daniel McKinney, a journalist and an Afghanistan War veteran, and Elliot, an oil company executive, take those opposing positions as construction goes ahead. The story dramatizes the Dakota Access Pipeline protests.
