Hannah Pearl Utt

Hannah Pearl Utt is an American filmmaker and actress who began in front of the camera as a UCLA student in the late 2000s, appearing in the web series Dorm Life. Raised in Santa Barbara, California, she later earned a bachelor's degree at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Between 2015 and 2016 she directed and starred in the series Disengaged, which she co-wrote with Jen Tullock, a collaborator from the short film Partners. After a small role in Ingrid Goes West (2017), she made her feature directorial debut with Before You Know It (2019), which she wrote with Tullock and in which the pair starred opposite Judith Light, Oona Yaffe and Mandy Patinkin. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and IndieWire named her that year among 25 female filmmakers to watch. Her second feature, Cora Bora, had its premiere at South by Southwest in 2023.
