Plot summary
Brendan designs computer games. He and his wife, Claire, are grieving their daughter Sam, who drowned in the ocean trying to retrieve her Curious George doll. Going through the belongings Sam left behind, Brendan finds a copy of The Berenstain Bears. He and his brother-in-law Matt both remember the title as Berenstein, yet nothing shows it was ever altered. The two of them learn of many other cases of the Mandela Effect, memories shared by crowds of people that do not match the record. Brendan and Claire notice further discrepancies of their own, among them Sam's doll, which they remember as having had a tail. Claire and Matt object to his obsession.
