Plot summary

Tessa Scott is seventeen and has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The last of her chemotherapy equipment comes out of her body so she can live the time she has left as normally as she can, and with her best friend Zoey she works through a list of things she wants to do. Her father wants to treasure every moment with her; her mother is supportive but rarely there; her brother Cal gets days that are about him. Tessa appears with her father on a radio talk show and jokes about her diagnosis. Adam, her new neighbor, looks after his handicapped widowed mother and has put his own plans, including university, on hold. He joins Tessa and Zoey on their outings.
