Plot summary
Dr. Emilia Priestly works as a police psychiatrist in London and wants a break from the job. Her friend Baroness Jane Alcott invites her to Mystery Island, a resort built around immersive murder-mystery games, where the original investors have gathered for a retreat. As the game begins, John Murtaugh, the reclusive founder of the resort, is murdered. The guests are confined to the island while Jason Trent, a local detective, works the case. Emilia proves her innocence and offers her professional skills to help him. For the two of them, the game and the real inquiry start to overlap as they look into the resort, its guests and its founder.
