Biography

Elizabeth Henstridge is an English actress and director who grew up in Sheffield and trained at East 15 Acting School before moving to Los Angeles. She made her professional debut in short films in 2010 and 2011, then appeared as Emily Alexander in the soap opera Hollyoaks. She co-starred in the horror film The Thompsons (2012) and the crime drama Gangs of Tooting Broadway (2013), and was cast as Jemma Simmons in the Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which premiered in 2013. Critics praised her work in the episode 4,722 Hours, named by The Atlantic as one of 2015's best television episodes. Her later films include Wolves at the Door (2016) and Christmas at the Plaza (2019), and she appeared in the Apple TV+ series Suspicion. She has also directed, including episodes of Superman and Lois.
