Plot summary
Three sisters travel back to the house where they grew up for their mother's third marriage. Diana was widowed twice: John Frost, father of Katherine and Victoria, was a Royal Navy pilot who died in the Falklands War, and she then married his best friend, Jonathan Munson, also a pilot, who went missing in Bosnia and was presumed dead. Her daughters arrive with troubles of their own. Katherine, the eldest, is a Royal Navy captain newly appointed to command a British aircraft carrier, the first woman in the post, and she leaves her son Marcus with her girlfriend Jack when she sails. Victoria is a Hollywood actress who has never held on to a partner. Georgina, the youngest and a half-sister, is a palliative nurse who has hired a private detective to look into her husband Jeremy.
