Plot summary
Lester Grimm, an aspiring writer, has brought jealousy to every relationship since a first date at fifteen ended with another man. His friend Vince and Vince's fiancée Lucretia introduce him to Ramona Ray, and the two take to each other right away. Ramona mentions that a former boyfriend of hers is Dashiell Frank, a successful novelist, and Lester's paranoia takes hold. Spotting Dashiell in the street one day, Lester follows him and watches him go into a group therapy session. He joins the group under his friend's name and keeps returning, hearing Dashiell talk in sessions with Dr. Howard Poke.
