Mr. Accident (2000) on Netflix

Plot summary

Roger Crumpkin works at the Big Egg Factory, where his clumsiness causes constant accidents. One night he goes to a club with his friend Lyndon and accepts a cigarette, which leaves him with a powerful nicotine addiction. He meets Sunday Valentine, a chicken sexer at the same factory who entered his apartment by mistake after reading her keytag upside down. Sunday uses the building's roof as an observatory, searching for signals from extraterrestrial intelligence, and the two begin to form a bond. After Roger drives through a barrier into an excavation, he finds a metal object that resembles a hubcap but cannot be dented and absorbs heat without warming. He shows it to Sunday, and they come to believe it came from a spacecraft. They discover that Roger's boss, Duxton, plans to market eggs laced with nicotine.
