Yahoo Serious

Yahoo Serious is an Australian actor who writes, directs, produces and stars in his comedies, and has composed their music. He was born in Cardiff, New South Wales. After art school expelled him, he co-wrote, co-produced, edited and directed his first film at 21, Coaltown, which appeared in 1977 and dealt with coal mining's social and political history. Young Einstein (1988) made him a star; he played a Tasmanian apple farmer whose beer-bubble experiments lead to E=mc2, then to rock music, surfing, a romance with Marie Curie and saving Paris. It succeeded in Australia but flopped in America. Reckless Kelly (1993), a satire about a modern Ned Kelly descendant who becomes a Hollywood movie star, was a hit at home but failed abroad, ending his international bid. Mr. Accident (2000) followed, about a man prone to accidents. In 1996 the University of Newcastle gave him an honorary doctorate, and he was a guest celebrity at the 2000 Sydney Olympics opening.
