Plot summary
Allanah James is the woman who draws Emery Simms away from his wife, Connie. Both of them are noticed: the police follow the pair, and a man who has been trailing Allanah barges into a restaurant and attacks Emery while they are having dinner. Allanah's own apartment does not satisfy her, so Emery moves her into a condo he owns; she settles in and brings a friend to stay. Emery also visits Brandon Collier, a friend from his college years. In a park full of playing children, Allanah tells Emery she is pregnant, and he asks her to put an end to the pregnancy. She refuses.
