Plot summary
Thirty days of mandatory community service are nearly over for four young women in Cleveland, Ohio, where Christmas has arrived. One night remains, and the terms of their service require in-home visits to people who are older and less fortunate. They work through their calls one address at a time until they reach their last stop of the evening, a house where a pleasant older woman greets them graciously and welcomes them inside. The night turns colder, and the four visitors begin to see that there is more to their host than the welcome she gave them at the door.
