Plot summary
Morgan Oliver is a gay athlete whose sense of purpose came from bicycle racing. A crash leaves him paralyzed from the waist down, and he sinks into depression, drinking beer while watching the sport that defined him. On a basketball court he meets Dean Kagen, and the two begin a romantic relationship. Dean helps Morgan train, and Morgan learns about the New York Haven Cycle Race. He decides to enter it with Dean's help and sponsorship from Tread Bike Shop. The race is the same one in which he had his accident. Morgan is determined not to let the paralysis change him.

- Michael Akers and Sandon Berg conceived Morgan while casting their earlier film Phoenix, when a wheelchair-using paraplegic actor submitted his portfolio even though Phoenix had no such role. Interviews with other wheelchair-using gay men then became the basis of the film.
