More Than Only (2017) on Netflix

Plot summary

Justin Johnson is a gay college student. His father is openly homophobic, and his mother stays quiet rather than counter him. Raised inside that house, Justin turns the contempt on himself and harms his own body, a habit that continues through his college years. One of those acts is severe enough to land him in a hospital emergency room, where a male nurse tends to him with a gentleness he has not met at home. Justin wants two things he has never had: to accept himself as he is, and to accept love from another man. The disapproval he grew up with stands in the way of both.
