Plot summary
In 1971, Amandeep Singh works undercover in Pakistan as Tariq Hussain, a RAW field operative, and marries Nasreen Hussain, a blind woman. India's first nuclear test in 1974 pushes Pakistan to accelerate its own weapons program, helped by the nuclear engineer Abdul Qadeer Khan. During the 1977 election campaign, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi learns of this from RAW chief R. N. Kao and orders a search for the facility. Kao gives the assignment, named Mission Majnu, to Amandeep, whose handler Sharma briefs him. In Pakistan, Amandeep meets two other RAW agents, Aslam Usmaniya and Raman Singh, known as Maulvi Saab.
