Plot summary

In the late 14th century, the Tughlaq Empire spreads through Gujarat under Zafar Khan, its Subedar, who orders the conversion of the region's people and the destruction of its temples. Hamirji Gohil is a young warrior from Arthila, a village in Gujarat, and he will not submit to the empire. From one king of the region to the next he goes, asking each to join him against Zafar Khan, and each turns him down. The Somnath Temple and the Hindu faith are what he means to keep safe, and he keeps looking for a way to raise a force for them.
