Plot summary
The documentary covers the five days of the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, both the concerts and the chaos around them. Eight cameras recorded rock, folk and jazz acts playing to a crowd of 600,000, gathering 175 hours of film. Between performances come gate-crashing, crowds climbing onto the stage, and a singer booed off it. The head promoter shouts at the audience as conditions worsen, and scuffles break out over ticket prices. Interviews, backstage dealings and announcements are woven through the music. The title is drawn from one of the songs performed at the festival.
