Plot summary
In 1996, Molly Wright is a Brooklyn child whose parents are neuralized by Men in Black agents after an alien appears in their home. She helps the alien escape and dodges neuralization herself. Years later, her talk of alien life has shut her out of government agencies. Molly tracks an alien landing, follows agents to their New York headquarters and is caught inside, where she tells Agent O that she bypassed neuralization and that a lifetime of searching makes her right for the job. O gives her probationary status as Agent M and sends her to the London branch, where she meets High T and agent H. M learns how H and High T drove back the Hive at the Eiffel Tower in 2016, and that H now treats his duties lightly while High T covers for him.

- Director F. Gary Gray tried to leave Men in Black: International several times but Sony persuaded him to stay. The studio tested two cuts, one by Gray and one by producer Walter F. Parkes, and released Parkes' version in cinemas.
- An early draft of the script, praised by Sony and drawing the attention of stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, was edgier and commented on the immigration debate. Its villains were to be an alien band inspired by the Beatles, whose four members merged into one during the climax.
- Producer Walter F. Parkes' rewrite pages were sent daily to stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, who were both so confused by them that they hired their own dialogue writers.
- Men in Black: International was the first film in the series to feature neither Will Smith nor Tommy Lee Jones, although it is set in the same universe as the previous three films.
- The film debuted to $30 million and topped the weekend box office, but it became the first entry in the series not to open above $50 million.
