Plot summary
Helen Riley is a waitress in a cheap diner with a sharp tongue. Danny Dolan, a policeman whose beat covers the New York waterfront, takes a liking to her. Helen's sister Kate is scatterbrained and has fallen for Duke, a low-level mobster. Duke turns his attention to Kate. Helen and Danny both know Duke is bad news, and Danny wants him behind bars before Kate's heart gets broken.
