Plot summary
The ID-7 virus removes inhibition and moral integrity, and those it infects act on their darkest impulses. Derek Cho works as a lawyer at Towers and Smythe Consulting, where he found the loophole that won the case of Nevil Reed, the first person to commit murder under the virus. One morning he meets Melanie Cross, a client who wants an extension on her loan, and then learns that his superior, Kara Powell, has pinned on him a bungled case for Vanda Corp. He confronts Kara, who is called The Siren, and they take their dispute to John Towers, the head of the firm. The ID-7 virus is detected in the building's ventilation system, and the building is placed under quarantine.
