Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- At the 2015 British Academy Television Awards, Marvellous took Best Single Drama and Gemma Jones won Best Supporting Actress as Neil Baldwin's mother; the real Baldwin collected the drama award himself and gave an acceptance speech.
- The Stoke City football ground scenes were not shot at Stoke: the production used Crewe Alexandra Football Club's Alexandra Stadium and the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham, North Wales for them, and shot much of the rest around Staffordshire and Keele University.
