Martyrs Lane (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

Leah is ten and lives in a large vicarage in England, where her father Thomas is the priest and the household takes in people who need shelter. Her mother, Sarah, stays emotionally distant and wears a locket at all times. Her older sister is Bex. Leah is troubled by nightmares and asthma, and a young mother and her teething baby add to the busy house when they stay for a while. Leah opens the locket, and inside is a lock of blonde hair, which she drops out of a window; Sarah is devastated by the loss. A girl her own age then appears at her window at night, in a white dress with fake angel wings, and her visits comfort Leah, though what she offers may be dangerous.
