Plot summary

The Marks women each let her insecurities steer her life. Jane decides on liposuction after longing to look younger and thinner, and the hospital stay that follows leaves her worrying about what will become of Annie, the pre-teen daughter she adopted. Michelle makes arts and crafts and tries to sell them to small businesses, while her marriage to Bill strains over her inability to earn money. Elizabeth is an aspiring actress who has just finished a small role in a big film, is up for a part opposite Kevin McCabe, and takes in stray dogs though she struggles to show Paul affection. Annie spends time with Lorraine, a Big Sister volunteer Jane hopes will put the girl in touch with her heritage.
