Plot summary
Jack works as an assassin and mercenary in a futuristic Hong Kong, and he has no explanation for what is happening to his body. Robotic agents pursue him, so Jack searches for Dr. Bergman, a reclusive scientist whose work deals with life extension, in a search for answers. Jack also meets April, a nightclub singer, and becomes increasingly drawn to her. The closer he gets to April, the further his body deteriorates. Dr. Bergman may know why Jack's body is failing, and Jack and April meet as two hardened souls who carry what they have done into a world poised between immortality and extinction.
