Plot summary
Lindsey Wilson owns a New York art magazine, and publisher Trent Greer wants to buy it, keeping her on as a consultant, and he wants to date her. Before she answers, she takes a week in Paris with her daughter Alexa, who is beginning a semester in the Sorbonne's art program under Hugo Blanchet, Lindsey's own former mentor. Lindsey has not been back in twenty years, not since her art studies and her romance with Jack Burrow, an American who stayed in Europe when she went home. The lock the two of them meant to fix to a bridge over the Seine fell into the river instead. Soon after arriving, Lindsey meets Jack again, and Jack is dating Nicole.
