Plot summary
Marvin Gable has built a new life selling real estate, and Cliff Cussick, his boss and mentor, has just given him the firm's highest honor. Ashley, his assistant, keeps threatening to quit her job. Marvin was once an assassin for a company run by his estranged brother Alvin, known as Knuckles. Sent to eliminate a young lawyer, Rose, who had stolen from the company, he told her to run instead and left that life behind. Around Valentine's Day, a letter from Rose reaches him. Then Raven, a knife assassin obsessed with poetry, confronts him; he has been hired to find Rose.
