Plot summary

Eni is haunted by a painful childhood and by the violent loss of the person she loved most. She finds escape in Los Cos, an underground club where cosplay and burlesque mix and where performers dressed as heroes and villains make the line between fantasy and reality hard to draw. Then a cosplayer dressed as Merman is found dead on a beach in New Jersey, and a mysterious stalker starts sending messages to her account. Eni decides she must face the injuries that shaped her, and she sets out to turn herself into a far more formidable person than the one she has been.
