Plot summary
A middle-aged postman at the Manchester sorting office, Eric Bishop is going through a dreadful crisis. His partner has not resurfaced since her release from prison, and he is raising two stepsons on his own. The older boy, Ryan, is drawn to a dangerous gangster named Zac and has agreed to hide the gangster's gun in Eric's house. Eric's daughter Sam, a student with a newborn baby, asks him to contact Lily again, the wife he left not long after their daughter was born. Overwhelmed, Eric speaks to the poster of his idol, the footballer Eric Cantona, who appears to him with advice.
