Plot summary
Kapustina lives in a remote, cold region of Russia. She is middle-aged and drinks, and her twin daughters live apart from her. She wants the girls back with her. Grishka and Anton are young and decide to marry; the wedding happens in a church. Right after the ceremony, their love is tested in a brutal way. Artyom is a boy who longs to see his father, who is missing. Artyom's mother objects to that.
