Plot summary
Gary Bloom marries Samantha, who has a young son, Lucas. The quiet boy ignores him, and Gary struggles to connect with his new stepson. His wedding videographer Karl calls to say something unusual appears in the footage, but Gary pays him no attention. Gary shows an old nunnery to Reverend J.D. Gospel, the leader of a Doomsday cult, who buys it on the spot. Lucas's school calls Gary in because the boy told his science teacher to go to hell, and the teacher then killed herself by jumping out a window. Samantha feels that everyone is blaming Lucas for the incident, and a psychiatrist advises counseling for both Gary and the boy. Among the stepfathers at therapy, Gary admits he thinks his stepson may be a little evil.
