Let's Not Get Angry (1966) on Netflix

Plot summary

Antoine Beretto, once a gangster, now runs a boat rental, waterskiing and diving school at Collioure. Two former accomplices, wanted by the anti-gang brigade, come to him for a loan and a passage to Italy by sea. He advances them four million francs and takes, instead of cash, the name of the man who owes it: Léonard Michalon, a crooked bookmaker who took secret bets at the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse and disappeared with the stakes. Antoine finds him through Jeff, another retired gangster, who calls Michalon a coward, a traitor and a parasite, and says he causes more trouble than he settles. Colonel McLean, a British subject, believes Michalon knows about his plan to rob a gold convoy, and his gang is after him. Antoine and Jeff set out to keep Michalon alive.
