Plot summary
Lillian comes back to the house in the forest beside the lake, bringing Bernhard, Sonja, Harald, Gabriel, Kai and Bjørn with her. Her troubled twin brother died a year earlier. Barely have they arrived when visions come to her, and the others sense that something strange is going on. A local legend holds that the water can drive certain people mad. The friends are in the forests and fjords of Norway, and the story grows out of Norwegian legend long taken for innocent folklore. It is a remake of a 1958 horror film drawn from the 1942 novel of the same name by André Bjerke.
