Plot summary
A Schnauzer-mix named Tramp steals food around the city and dodges dogcatcher Elliot, who has labeled him vicious. Nearby lives Lady, an American Cocker Spaniel that Jim Dear gave his wife Darling as a Christmas present, and who has grown up friendly with the neighbors' dogs, old Trusty and feisty Jock. Tramp takes shelter in her neighborhood, and when Darling's aunt Sarah shoos Lady away from the baby shower, Lady cannot understand why her owners are so busy, confuses Tramp's voice with Trusty's, and tells him her worries. Tramp works out that Darling is expecting a baby and warns Lady that when a baby arrives, a dog is turned out. After baby Lulu is born, the couple has less time for her.

- The remake was going to reuse "The Siamese Cat Song", but Nate "Rocket" Wonder, Roman GianArthur and Janelle Monáe rewrote it as the blues song "What a Shame" because of the original's perceived racist connotations.
