Plot summary
Kung Fury is a detective in 1985 Miami. In a back alley, his partner Dragon is cut in half by a red ninja, and in the same moment lightning hits Kung Fury and a cobra bites him. The kung fu he gains from that lets him beat the ninja, and he goes on to take down a rogue arcade machine robot. Ordered to work with Triceracop, he leaves the force instead, unwilling to risk another partner. Adolf Hitler, who calls himself the Kung Führer, pushes into the timeline, guns down the police chief remotely and strikes the precinct by phone. Kung Fury asks Hackerman, a computer whiz, to send him back to Nazi Germany to kill Hitler.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Kung Fury (2015)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Because he could only afford one police uniform while shooting the trailer, Sandberg filmed each extra separately and composited them into the police precinct scene; the single-shot scene in which Kung Fury cuts down dozens of Nazi soldiers combined his own take with over 60 takes of individual extras attacking him.
- When Joanna Häggblom, who played Katana in the trailer, was replaced by Helene Ahlson for the actual film, visual scratches and distortion effects were added to the scene to mask the cast change.
- For the scene of Barbarianna riding a giant wolf, Sandberg used stock footage of a black wolf from a website, since finding a real wolf to film in Sweden proved impossible.
