Plot summary
Krisha is in her sixties and has long struggled with addiction. She and her family have lived apart for years, and her son Trey grew up largely in the care of her sister Robyn. She has told her relatives that she is sober now and that she would like to cook the Thanksgiving dinner for the whole extended family. She reaches Robyn's big house, full of relatives, and greets everyone. She tries to make peace with Trey and says she wants a place in his life again. He stays cold, will not look at her, and leaves when she presses him. The relatives disagree about her. Robyn thinks she has changed, while Doyle, her brother-in-law, doubts the claims she makes about her sobriety.
