Plot summary
Joe, a slacker and metal fan, has just been dumped by his girlfriend Beth. His friends Eric and Hung, both dedicated live-action role players, haul him to a LARP campaign in the woods to lift his spirits. The game master, Ronnie Kwok, still stung by an old Dungeons and Dragons humiliation at Joe's hands, insists Eric cast an advanced regeneration spell before Joe can take part. Eric reads a passage from a grimoire he ordered online, and a succubus that looks like Beth arrives in the forest. Hung teaches Joe the basics of LARP combat, and Joe meets Gwen, a fellow player whose cousin Gunther believes the event is a real fantasy world.
