Plot summary
Alfred Kinsey grows up under a father who denounces modern inventions as leading to sexual sin, and he becomes a zoologist specializing in gall wasps. He takes a teaching post in biology at Indiana University, where he lectures on the wasps and where he falls in love with a freethinking student in his class, Clara McMillen, whom he calls Mac. After hours he meets with his graduate students, who come to him for advice about sex. What he can tell them is limited, because scientific data on human sexual behavior barely exist. Kinsey sets out to collect that data himself.
