Plot summary
In 1960, four American scientists leave Earth for Nova, a planet that has just entered the solar system. The crew is zoologist Dr. Richard Gordon, geologist Dr. Nora Pierce, medical specialist Dr. Ralph Martin and chemist Dr. Patricia Bennett. They are chosen to learn whether people from Earth could settle on the planet. They land and find oxygen they can breathe, a forest, and animals around a lake of drinkable fresh water.
