Biography

Douglas Henderson was an American actor whose career in film and television followed years of work in stock companies along the eastern seaboard. A native of Montclair, New Jersey, he made his screen debut in 1952 with a part in Eight Iron Men, directed by Stanley Kramer. His movie roles included Col. Milt, the supervisor of Frank Sinatra's Maj. Marco in John Frankenheimer's The Manchurian Candidate (1962), and Congressman Morrissey in the Elvis Presley comedy Stay Away, Joe (1968). On television he was a six-time guest player on Perry Mason, taking several defendant roles. Between 1966 and 1969 he played the character who oversaw the two agents, James West and Artemus Gordon, on The Wild Wild West. He died in 1978.
