Plot summary
Leng Heng lives in Phnom Penh in the near future, in a neighborhood that faces eviction because a bullet train service to China is planned. The wealthy in the city pay for nanotechnology that augments what they see and experience. In his sleep, Leng Heng dreams of lives he has lived before, and of a solid gold Buddha that he is sure will keep his family from losing their home. Together with Srey Leak, an orphan who lives on the streets, he sets out to find the statue, in the hope that it will protect the whole community.
