Plot summary
John Candy was a Canadian actor. He began performing in a sketch comedy series called Second City Television and went on to become a leading star of comedy films. He died of a heart attack in 1994. The people who knew him, among them relatives and performers he worked with, describe his life and career. Outtakes, private home video, audio commentary and rare archive footage make up much of that account. The film takes its title from a line his character speaks in the 1987 movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
