Plot summary
Nicky Parsons, a former Treadstone technician now working with a hacktivist group, breaks into the CIA's servers in Reykjavík to expose its black ops programs. Among the files she finds are documents about Jason Bourne's recruitment into Treadstone and the part his father played in it. The breach alerts Heather Lee, who runs the agency's cyber operations, and Director Robert Dewey, who brings in an assassin known as the Asset, a man with a grudge against Bourne. Parsons travels to Athens, where Bourne has been living apart from the world as a street fighter, to tell him what she has learned. Bourne, still troubled by flashbacks, agrees to meet her at Syntagma Square during an anti-government protest, then sees that the agency is hunting them both and holds off the agents so she can get away.
