Plot summary
A summons from his older brother Francis brings Alec, a courageous but impetuous knight, back to his home village to help care for their ailing father. The brothers have only a short time together. A traveler named Cid reaches the village, terrified and half out of his mind, warning that a winged beast is coming: a dragon's body, a gruesome insect's head, deadly claws. The creature descends on the peaceful town. Alec draws his sword, the villagers take up arms, and the brothers stand together against the attack on their home.
