Plot summary
Hawkins Bay's downtown shops are losing business because bridge repairs send traffic on a detour around Main Street, and the Christmas season may not keep them all open. Mayor Alexandra Foster and her assistant Gina propose a multi-day Christmas market, but the only suitable site is the closed mill owned by the Hawkins family. The two families have feuded for thirty years, since Alex's father, then-mayor Art Foster, publicly blamed the Hawkins family for shutting the mill without notice. Most of the family left town; Darcy Hawkins lives at the old estate with his grandmother Mary Hawkins. Alex wants to persuade him with the mill's redevelopment, a permit her father's planning commission once rejected. Working together on the market and the redevelopment, the two begin to fall for each other, though others in Hawkins Bay remember the feud.
