Plot summary
Blaine is a columnist who is socially shunned and unsure of himself, and he has met dates through online profiles without finding the true love he is looking for. In an online chat room he finds Xander, a soft-spoken Texan musician who has recently moved to Los Angeles, and Xander shows interest in him. Blaine is smitten and keeps the conversation going, but his messages arrive under the account of his roommate Cameron, a go-go dancer, and Cameron's photograph goes with them. Cameron is the more athletic of the two, and the face that Xander has been writing to is his, not Blaine's.
