Plot summary
Sophie Hartley is an American book illustrator. She lives with her husband Craig and their two daughters, Ruby and Elly. At a party she meets Craig's new co-worker, Mara, who tells her about a friend who died in Kosovo. In the weeks after, a dress of Sophie's and Elly's favorite toy go missing, and one of Sophie's paintings is destroyed. Sophie grows certain that Mara is stalking her. She believes Mara wants her children and her husband. No one believes Sophie.
