Plot summary
It is 1929, and Edgar Faldo has decided that sex deserves the serious attention people rarely give it. He brings a circle of friends to his family mansion to debate the subject: Sevy, an English Surrealist painter; Monty, a German novelist; and Peter, a fellow professor. Edgar asks them to describe their erotic lives plainly, without wit or exaggeration, while two hired stenographers, Zoe and Alice, write down what is said. Edgar's father, Mr. Faldo, turns up with Sasha, his new wife, to watch over the sessions, and other guests pass through, among them Lorenz, Oscar, Sevy's wife Janet, and Chloe, Edgar's French girlfriend, who does not approve of the experiment.
