Everett Glass
Biography
Everett Glass was an American actor who played character parts, with more than eighty screen and television credits from the 1940s into the 1960s, among them Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956). Born in Bangor, Maine, he attended Amherst College and spent years in the theater as an actor, director and playwright before entering films. In 1917 he joined the permanent company at the Greenwich Village Theatre in New York, and in 1926 he won praise in Berkeley for the comedy The Drunkard. He later directed at the Berkeley Playhouse and oversaw the Wheeler Hall Plays series for the University of California. His film acting began in 1948, and his first credited role came in Easy Living (1949). From 1951 he found steady television work, often as a scientist, judge or other distinguished figure, and he retired in 1962 after an appearance on Perry Mason. He died in 1966.
